How do I start charging with EVCS?

The best way to get started is by downloading the free EVCS app. From there you can find chargers, enroll in a subscription plan, or check Pay-As-You-Go prices. Once you are at an EVCS site, the EVCS app will also be the easiest way for you to locate charger, access instructions, and initiate sessions.

How can I find a charger?

You can search by city or zip code through our EVCS app or by going to find a charger. You can also find all of our public chargers via Plugshare, Google and Apple maps.

Which EVs are compatible with EVCS?

EVCS utilizes CCS, NACS, CHAdeMO, and J-1772 connectors to support all EVs on the road. Please check the EVCS app to see if the necessary charging connector is available.

Is the EVCS network expanding?

Yes! We are rapidly expanding and plan to continue to build new sites and increase density within California, Oregon, and Washington. Stay up to date with our newest charging locations by using the EVCS app!

How do I charge with an EVCS subscription plan?

You can start charging on the EVCS network right away by following these three simple steps:
1. Visit evcs.com/plans and Get Started with the plan of your choice.
2. Download the EVCS app and sign in with your account.
3. Scan the QR code on the front of the station and follow the on-screen instructions.

How do subscription plan allowances and overages work?

All subscription plans include an "allowance" of kWh with the price of the plan. After that allowance is used up, you will enjoy heavily discounted charging billed at our "overage" rate. Upon completion of your subscription renewal, your kWh allowance will be reset.

When does my subscription start?

Your subscription will commence immediately once payment is processed and your monthly recurring billing date will be the same day each month. For users who initially subscribed on the 29th, 30th or 31st, your next billing date will be on the 1st of the second month thereafter. For example, if you subscribed on May 31, your next billing date will be July 1.

How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my membership?

You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your EVCS subscription plan at any time. To do so, please visit the "Plans" tab in the EVCS app. Your new billing date will become effective one month after the upgrade date. For downgrades or cancellations, the adjustment will go into effect at the end of your billing cycle and no refunds will be provided for the remaining days in a billing cycle after downgrade or cancellation of a membership.

When will my subscription plan renew?

Public plans contain monthly energy allowances and renew every 30 days. Hertz rideshare plans renew weekly. All subscription plans auto-renew. Exact subscription details will always be available during plan enrollment.

Does EVCS offer discounts to Rideshare drivers?

Yes! EVCS offers weekly plans specifically for Rideshare drivers renting electric vehicles from Hertz as well as discounted offerings for Lyft drivers. Please visit your Hertz TNC rental location or Lyft drivers app for further enrollment information.

Can I charge Pay-As-You-Go without enrolling in a subscription plan?

Yes, you can! You can charge without a subscription plan by utilizing the EVCS app or by swiping a credit card at your DC Fast Charger of choice. Visit the location details page in the EVCS app to see exact Pay-As-You-Go pricing.

How much does it cost to charge my EV?

EVCS charges a $/kWh rate specific to the each location. Visit the location details page in the EVCS app to see exact Pay-As-You-Go pricing for each site. In addition to the base fare, session fees are applied to each Pay-As-You-Go session. However, if you have a subscription, no session fees will be incurred for your charging sessions.All Pay-As-You-Go sessions will also be subject to a pre-authorization hold. This hold is a temporary check placed on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds available before a charging session begins. Once the session is complete, the hold will be replaced by the actual amount charged during your session.
