Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

We are proud to join in on the celebration by sharing our vision and progress toward accelerating the transition to clean, carbon-free transportation.

Since our founding in 2018, EVCS’ mission has always been to make public EV charging simpler, faster, more convenient, and more affordable. This mission has not changed as we continue striving to lower  the total cost of EV ownership and lower the barrier to entry for customers considering going electric.

We are excited to share that to date, the EVCS network has delivered electricity to customer EVs equivalent to 17.1 million electric miles driven, 410,000 gallons of gas saved, over 45,000 trees planted, and over 8 million lbs. of CO2 prevented. With that many electric miles driven, you could drive around the world 686 times!

Much of this progress is a credit to the continued expansion of our West Coast network, where we most recently commissioned 12 locations across Washington State as part of the West Coast Electric Highway upgrades.

Our plan to double our network footprint by the end of the year remains unchanged as we aim to more than double our footprint to over 1,500 chargers and extend our services to 35 new cities along the West Coast. Recognizing the need to get you back on the road quickly, we will also be introducing our first wave of ultra-fast (150 kWh and 350 kWh) charging starting in Q3 of this year.

We are also making significant investments to enhance the reliability of our network. Starting in 2022, we placed orders surpassing 800 DC fast chargers with our partner Tritium, a leading supplier of advanced EV charging equipment assembled in the U.S. Earlier this year we kicked off a program to replace older, less reliable DC fast chargers with newer and faster Tritium equipment, improving uptime performance and charging success rate for EVCS customers. You can also expect to see the latest Tritium hardware deployed to over 35 new locations coming online across our West Coast network throughout 2023 and into 2024.

In addition to updating our equipment, we've also made significant technology investments, upgrading our ability to detect, diagnose, and remotely resolve charger performance issues in real time across our network. And we continue to build out our field technician team, enhancing our ability to both proactively identify and address potential issues and decrease our response time to customer reported issues. As always, please reach out to us for any support issue, either via our 24/7 phone support at 1-866-300-3827 or online at support.evcs.com.

This Earth Day, we reiterate our commitment not only to sustainability, but to continued network expansion and reliability. The goal is and will always be to provide simpler, faster, and more affordable EV charging for all. We are proud of the progress we have made thus far and continue to be excited about what’s to come.

Happy Earth Day,
The EVCS Team

Moving Forward Act: Helping us help you

Who says Congress can’t get anything done? On July 1st, the House of Representatives passed the H.R.2 – Moving Forward Act sponsored by Peter DeFazio (D-OR), a colossal $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill that, we’re pleased to say, boasts numerous policies intended to advance the cause of electric mobility. The 2,300-page behemoth is a bit of a mish-mash, so we’ve taken the liberty of going through it ourselves and summarizing the parts that are most critical to the EVCS mission. Here are some ways the bill benefits us and our clients...

Build GREEN Act: Why This Gets Us Charged Up

It can sometimes be difficult to wade through the flurry of sustainable energy bills being proposed in Congress. Several of them are in various stages of the legislative process at any one time, and many never make it out of committee. However, the recently announced Build GREEN Act seems destined for the President’s desk at some point soon, as it comes during a time when crumbling infrastructure and the need to create jobs has become a priority for the current administration. It also has the backing of five powerful progressives in Congress – Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Ed Markey (D-MA) along with House Reps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Andrew Levin (D-MI).
