The addition of the seasoned mobile and digital executive sparks a new phase of advancement for the company as it reaches into new markets and fortifies its customer base

LOS ANGELES – July 13, 2022  — EV Charging Solutions (EVCS), one of the largest and fastest growing electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network operators in the US, has today announced the appointment of mobile and digital media industry veteran, Kirk Johnson, as Chief Growth Officer. Johnson joins EVCS from Amazon, where he served as Head of Marketing and Appstore Business for Fire TV and Tablet in North America. His appointment is effective immediately and he will report directly to EVCS Co-Founder and CEO Gustavo Occhiuzzo.

As Chief Growth Officer, Johnson will lead marketing, digital product development, and strategic partnerships with responsibility for consumer revenue and network utilization. Bringing a digital-first perspective, he will spearhead the development and advancement of all customer-facing touchpoints, including the expansion of EVCS’ “all-you-can-charge” subscription offering – the company’s groundbreaking unlimited fast charging service. Forging a new path for the company, Johnson’s 20+ years of experience leading high-performance teams to deliver against user growth, and profitability objectives in both early-stage startup and Fortune 500 organizations, will take EVCS to new heights.

Prior to EVCS, Johnson led the North America consumer marketing and product planning teams for the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV and Tablets, with responsibility for engaging and monetizing over 22 million monthly active users. A career product strategist and digital growth leader, he has held numerous executive positions across the digital media and consumer electronics industries, including Head of Product and Growth at Screambox and Vice President of Product at Zeebo, a Qualcomm company.

Johnson holds an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business and a BA from UC San Diego.

EVCS Raises $68.8 Million to Accelerate Expansion of West Coast EV Fast Charging Network

LOS ANGELES – July 6, 2022 — EVCS, one of the largest electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network operators on the West Coast, today announced the completion of a $68.8 million funding raise, comprised of a $50 million debt facility from Spring Lane Capital, and a Series A equity investment of $18.8 million co-led by Abdo Partners, Spring Lane Capital and the Copulos Group, an Australian Private Global Investor. Jett Capital Advisors also provided investment banking advisory services in support of the equity capital raise. The capital raised will support EVCS’ rapid expansion into 35+ new cities across California and Washington as well as increase charger density in its existing communities. EVCS plans to more than double its network footprint to nearly 1,500 chargers by 2023.

West Coast Electric Highway to Receive Extensive Upgrade from EVCS

ARCADIA, Calif. (August XX, 2021) – EV Charging Solutions (EVCS), one of the largest electric vehicle (EV) fast charging network operators on the West Coast, today announced that they are approved and funded by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to upgrade 44 and add three new electric vehicle charging stations on the Oregon portion of the original West Coast Electric Highway (WCEH). Eleven of the 47 stations will be called “superstations” and will include three DC fast chargers and one Level 2 AC charger. In all, more than 100 charging ports will be upgraded or added.
