EVCS and the City of Fairfield open their first EV charging site

EVCS to install 31 DC fast chargers and 27 Level 2 chargers across 8 locations in Fairfield for public use

Los Angeles, CA - September 13, 2023 -- EVCS, one of the largest electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network operators on the West Coast, and the City of Fairfield are excited to commence their first EV charging site. Located at Allan Witt Community Park, the new EVCS site consists of four 50kW DC Fast chargers with 8 ports capable of simultaneous charging, which will significantly enhance EV charging accessibility in the City.

EVCS has partnered with the City of Fairfield to install a total of 31 DC Fast chargers and 27 Level 2 chargers across eight strategic locations. All chargers will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy.  The EVCS charging locations include three in Fairfield downtown center, two at Fairfield park-and-rides, and three at community parks. EV drivers in the Fairfield community will have the opportunity to fast charge their vehicles throughout the City, gaining about 100 miles of range by charging for as little as 30 minutes using the DC fast chargers. Moreover, six of the eight locations will feature Level 2 chargers designed for longer charging sessions.

This accomplishment is the result of an ongoing collaboration among EVCS, the City of Fairfield, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA), and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Committed to bringing clean transportation to Solano County, STA has played a pivotal role in supporting the establishment of EV charging infrastructure in the City of Fairfield. The Air District provided funding to support charger deployment.

"We are honored to bring the EVCS network to the City of Fairfield, further propelling EV adoption in California and across the West Coast," said Gustavo Occhiuzzo, EVCS CEO. "This initiative aligns with our mission to eliminate the barriers of EV ownership by combining affordability, reliability, and convenience. We're making it easier than ever for residents to access cost-effective charging, accelerating the transition to a carbon-free future."

In support of this sentiment, Mayor Catherine Moy said, "I'm excited about the new fast chargers at Allan Witt Park. Our collaboration with EVCS, STA, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is just the beginning of Fairfield's journey to electrify our city, moving us one step further in the EV game. It's great to see us all working together for a greener, more sustainable future."

EVCS and the City of Fairfield are excited to continue to drive and grow this partnership on EV charging. The remaining seven EV charging locations are scheduled to open in 2024.
