A few years ago, the supply of electric vehicles was poor as their autonomy was not efficient enough to meet the needs of those drivers who used their cars to travel long distances. Although the advantages of electric cars were always taken into account, the drawbacks encountered by users made automobile makers and drivers less interested in this sort of vehicle.
The reality of driving electric today is different. The automotive market offers numerous models of vehicles with a variety of shapes and sizes. For example, there are cars with seven or more seats for those drivers who need larger vehicles. With this being said, the advantages of electric cars outweigh the disadvantages that were mentioned in the past: little variety and poor range.
Driving electric helps to save the environment
Whether or not you are interested in environmental issues, you have heard about the negative impact that the world’s population has had and continues to have on the environment. Using clean energy is a new way to contribute to reducing further damage to the earth and its atmosphere.
The main reason is that hundreds of thousands of vehicles are driven every day around the world. Considering that most of them are gas-powered, one can only imagine the amount of fossil fuels they emit. That carbon dioxide contributes directly to greenhouse gases and climate change.
On the other hand, electric vehicles don’t release any gas into the atmosphere. They use batteries to run, which can be fueled by using renewable sources, such as wind and solar energy. And if you’re thinking, “Hey, those batteries don’t seem to be environmentally friendly” … Well, they are! Automotive makers have improved them so that they can be recycled. EVs now use lithium-ion batteries, just like mobile phones, that end up in recycling centers where they get pulverized to sort out the metal components.
Benefits of electric cars
As we’ve already mentioned, electric cars’ advantages are many, such as that they don’t emit damaging gases into the atmosphere. Besides that, EVs can use renewable energy to fuel their batteries. But, what else can we say about electric vehicles?
Electric cars have quieter motors that also require less maintenance than conventional cars with internal combustion engines (ICE). That translates directly into you saving money and less time at the repair shop!
At EVCS, we strongly believe in cutting emissions and saving the environment. That’s why our goal has always been to incentivize both site owners and drivers to go green. Join the change, go electric!Tags: electric car charging, electric vehicles, environment
